Compromises with Budgetary Constraints

Sometimes there's a budgetary constraint and other times it's a love for what's already there that drives clients to say "this must stay."
I can almost always accommodate their wishes while applying Universal Design principles. In this case, I was able to open up the room and improve traffic path by relocating the refrigerator.
On the other hand, the client needed to keep the existing microwave. Ideally, it should have been placed on the counter or below, for easy access. You don't want to reach over boiling pots to get into your microwave, do you? This is Universal Design thinking.
